How many of us know what cancer really means? How often have we seen the "Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure", or the "Stand up to Cancer," and had a moment but went on with our lives. Well cancer is real. In layman's terms, Cancer is the uncontrolled growth of abnormal cells in the body. The cells are also called malignant cells. There are different types of cancer. To read more about the different types, I found this website that explains in detail, more information about cancer. WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT CANCER
I know many of you reading this blog know at least someone that was diagnosed with cancer. Some of us have individuals who won the battle and some of us have people who lost their lives to cancer. Either way, we all need to rise up and be aware about the different types of cancer... I will be back tomorrow to talk more on Cancer.. Please share this with your friends..

Cancer Awareness and why we need to break the barriers of Silence
So I am going to DC on Wednesday to see my family and to support African Women's Cancer Awareness Association. As you know, Cancer is one of the many things in Africa that we don't speak about. Have you not heard when someone has been diagnosed in our community, the first thing you hear is "Ah don't tell anyone." While we all understand the shock, we need to start to open up on these kinds of things to make people aware and to be able to get the much needed help. I have lost some of my family members to breast cancer and up until then, I never really bothered to educate myself on types of cancer, symptoms and just general information about cancer.
So this whole week, we would talk about cancer, the different types and I will take you inside AWCAA, what they do and how you can support this cause..
Much love all..
